Oh MAC Satin Taupe, you bring it every time. As you can guess, satin taupe is my favourite MAC eyeshadow shade.
On the surface, it probably just seems like your average taupe shadow. For me, its the consistency that makes this a standout MAC shadow. I find MAC shadows in general can be hit and miss, with some a little dryer than others. Satin Taupe is buttery soft and smooth. Pigmentation is excellent, as is staying power.
Satin taupe works well in the crease or as a simple wash of colour swept over the lid. Shade wise, its a medium toned brown taupe with purple undertones and a frost finish. It's easy to see why this is one of MAC's bestselling shades. Its highly wearable and I can see it working well on a range of skin tones.
I like to wear this shade with something lighter like era or over the lid with a dark brown in the crease. I've still got a few slots left in my MAC palette so I'm hoping maybe something like bronze or vanilla may be next on my list.
