The At Home Facial

Hands up, I've never been to a salon for a beauty treatment other than having my hair done. I guess there's something satisfying in being able to do your own diy job at home. At the end of a long day, I love taking my makeup off and being able to treat my skin to some TLC.

For creating a facial in the comfort of my own home, I've come across the Una Brennan Superfacialist Neroli Firming Lift & Hydrate Facial Oil (try saying that fast!) - an interesting concept in being a pre-cleanse oil used before your normal cleanser. I like to use a few drops of this oil, warmed between my hands and massaged into my skin. Despite having oily skin, the una brennan oil doesn't feel greasy or heavy on my skin. I remove it with a warm, damp cloth (Primark have some nice ones at 3 for £1.50) and splash my face with warm water.

After this, I'll use a cream cleanser - the Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk is a nice follow up as its light but also very soothing. The next step in my facial is a toner. If I'm using a pre-cleanse oil then I generally opt for a nice, light toner, such as the No7 Soft and Soothed Gentle Toner
Then, I'll follow with another oil. A recent discovery is Essential Care's Odylique Organic Superfruit Concentrate*. This is a 100% organic oil with five omega fatty acids and antioxidant vitamins, aiming to boost moisture and cell renewal. I like to use 2-3 drops of this massaged over my face and neck. Its slightly heavier than the una brennan oil but again, I don't find it too greasy for my skin. If my skin is feeling dehydrated then I'll use a moisturiser too but normally I'll use the oil alone.

Adding both these oils into my skincare routine has made my skin glow. My complexion looks far more radiant the morning after I pamper my skin. Its a great routine for a pick me up or if I just fancy a pamper night. Facial oils have become a big part of my skincare routine - both these too are good quality oils with great results. I found the Una Brennan oil for half price in tkmaxx so it might be worth a look if you have a store nearby!
