Getting a good base is key for a great makeup look. I've tried a few foundations over the years and I have a few favourites, which depend upon my skins needs and the time of year. As we are heading towards summer, I favour a lighter base. Despite having oily skin, I hate the feeling of a heavy base in warm weather.
Once upon a time (okay, it was 2012) I had a little love affair with Burberry's sheer eyeshadow in pale barley. Since then, its been sidelined for other variants but as its been a recent rediscovery, I think its worth talking about again.
So, I originally posted this on my lifestyle blog but I've decided to close that blog as my heart just wasn't in it. You know when you quickly lose passion for something - yeah that's how I felt about that. Maybe I was spreading myself too thin but I can use some of the content over here so its all good!
Editing your photos can be a big blogging chore. Luckily, there's a few free online sites that can help make your blog photos so much nicer. Whether its brightening a photo, making a blog banner or mocking up a collage, I've got a round up of the best free photo editing sites on the net.
Primers used to be a product I never understood. Back in the day, I would splash my face with cold water in a morning and then apply my makeup. Since my beauty blogging days started, I've become more interested in a morning skincare routine, followed by a primer.
Mememe cosmetics is a brand I first tried several years ago. I cant even remember what the product was so fair to say that it didn't leave an everlasting impression. Since then, mememe have been given an image overhaul with their inspiration from Ancient Greece and their branding based on a celebration of free spirits.
No doubt you will have already seen or have makeup from Kate Moss' collaboration with Rimmel. The range is already pretty popular - the lipstick in shade 110 is my all time favourite lippie! So its no surprise that the range is being extended with May's launch of the Urban Bohemian & Idol Eyes Collections.
Revlon shadow links have been a recent purchase of mine. I completely forgot these were being released until I found them in Boots. Usually I search online for swatches/reviews before I buy makeup but with these I just ended up grabbing three shades on the spot.
EcoTools brushes have been on my radar for a while. I don't think you need to spend a lot of money on makeup brushes as there are some great cheaper alternatives on the market.
There are many beauty tips out there and I've tried out a few over the years. I don't like to be negative on here but knowing what isn't quite so good can save a lot of time (and money) so with that in mind I thought I'd share the beauty tips that didn't quite cut it.

Bright shades, especially neons are going to be huge this summer. Typically, I stick to safe shades - I'm a neutral girl at heart. However, the sunshine brings the fun out and I like to be a little more daring with my makeup.
